PHILOSOPHY OF PRACTICE
My intention for you is to help you live your best life possible, free of negative patterns, thinking, or behaviours, and to help you develop a better future with the tools and resources to succeed independently. Over the years I have worked with many people and can truly say that my drive today, to see my clients thrive is just as strong as it was when I started. I utilize a goal-oriented and compassion-based approach to counselling with a culturally sensitive, systems-lens, and bring both personal and professional experience to the table. The approaches that inform my practice include Person-Centred Therapy, Family Systems, Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT), Satir Counselling, Adjustment Counselling, Play and Art Therapy, career coaching, personal development, Crisis Intervention, and Feminist Theory.
BACKGROUND
I have worked in the mental health field for many years, and am passionate about helping people resolve problems and achieve their personal goals. I have experience supporting clients from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds, whether it's adults, children, adolescents, families, seniors, gender minorities, chronic illness, caregivers, pregnancy, or indigenous people. I have experience as a counsellor in private practice, inpatient general psychiatry, adolescent psychiatry and education, outreach programs for child & infant wellness, the justice system, case management, community/outpatient mental health, and hospitals (critical care, emergency). In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, gardening, traveling the world, and spending time with my children and grandchildren.

TESTIMONIALS
FOUND PEACE
"Sita helped me during a very dark time in my life. I felt like she didn't judge me and I felt safe to share things I would normally have felt uncomfortable sharing. I was able to find peace about some things I was carrying for a long time and I am so grateful for the time I she spent with me". (CHERYL)
FOUND DIRECTION
"I was struggling with direction in my life and having a hard time making decisions. The sessions were useful and gave me support to make some important personal decisions. I feel like I now have new tools to help myself be more decisive. I would recommend Sita for counselling". (JEFF)
